Die Schweizer Künstler Taiyo Onorato und Nico Krebs (beide 1979 geboren) arbeiten als Duo zusammen, seit sie sich 2003 an der Zürcher Hochschule der Künste kennengelernt haben. Ihre vielfältigen Projekte entwickeln sich rund um das Praxisfeld Fotografie, umfassen aber auch Skulptur, Installation, Film und Buchveröffentlichungen. Ihre Arbeiten wurden international in zahlreichen Galerien und Kulturinstitutionen gezeigt, dazu gehören Einzelausstellungen im MoMA PS1 NYC, in der Kunsthalle Mainz, im Foam Amsterdam, im Fotomuseum Winterthur, im Kunsthaus Aarau, im CAC Cincinnati, im Swiss Institute NY, im LeBal Paris und im KINDL Zentrum für Gegenwartskunst, Berlin.

Their extensive journeys are motivated by socio-political and environmental interests, as they confront preconceptions, mythologies, and the impossibility of conveying physical and emotional experiences using conventional documentary methodologies. Expanding the trope of the photographic road trip, they cultivate experimental strategies to interpret the places they visit and construct narratives.
